Big Match, Final Home Game Friday
Posted on Tue, Jun 19, 2012

The Atlanta Silverback women play host to their final home game this Friday at 7:00 PM, when the top two teams in the division go head to head in what looks to be another thrilling match.

The Silverbacks (6-0-1) will play the first-place Charlotte Lady Eagles (7-0-2), the same team they played to a draw with this past Saturday on the road.

It will also be half-price kids night at Atlanta Silverbacks Park. All kids/children will be admitted for half price and will have the opportunity to come on the field and play mini soccer games during halftime like in week’s passed. Adult tickets will still be $10 per person.

In the first meeting between the two teams in Charlotte on Saturday, the Lady Eagles got out to a 2-0 lead, before the Silverbacks roared back for two goals to finish in a 2-2 draw.

These two teams are heads and shoulders above the rest of the division, as the Lady Eagles have accumulated 23 points through nine games, while the Silverbacks have 19 points through seven games. The next closest team holds just four points after seven games.

They will meet once more in the final game of the regular season on Saturday, July 14, in Charlotte.

It will be the final home game for the Silverbacks this season. The Silverback women are 5-0 and have outscored their opponents 19-1 at Atlanta Silverbacks Park in 2012.
