Buete Named to Weekly Best 11Tuesday June 10, 2008 ATLANTA—The Silverbacks' Scott Buete was named to the USL-1 weekly Best 11 team Tuesday for his tireless midfield work in the club's 1-1 draw versus Puerto Rico last Friday.
The honor is his first of the season, and fourth in his three years with the club. Following the 2007 season Buete was named team Most Valuable Player.
Buete is the sixth Silverback to earn the honor this season, joining Matt Bobo, David Hayes, Jason McLaughlin, and Ansu Toure (twice), and Mac Kandji.
Charleston's Aaron King was named Player of the Week for his goal and assist in the Battery's 3-1 win over Montreal.
Buete and the Silverbacks (3-3-3, are in action tonight, taking on PDL side Austin Aztex in the first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in Austin. The side then travels to Portland Thursday and Minnesota Saturday for league fixtures. The Portland and Minnesota games can be seen live or on demand at www.USLLive.com.
The Silverbacks return to Silverbacks Park June 21 to host the Puerto Rico Islanders.
