The Atlanta Silverbacks, the largest soccer organization in the southeast, today announced a partnership renewal with the world’s leader in express delivery, DHL. DHL has a competitive and winning attitude that fits well with the Silverbacks organization. Alberta Burba, Vice President of Sales, commented on the renewal of the partnership, “DHL has a significant presence in the Atlanta area, and this partnership with the Atlanta Silverbacks reflects our commitment to the local community, as well as a first-rate soccer organization. DHL is a growing, global company, and we’re pleased to be able to support this team as well as the sport of soccer to give it the recognition and support it deserves here in the U.S.” Stephen Pratten, President and CEO of the Silverbacks, explained the history of the partnership, “DHL has partnered with many sports organizations in the past and we’re pleased they continue to choose soccer as a vehicle to promote their company.” The Silverbacks Men, Women, and U-23’s compete in the highest ranks of North America’s United Soccer Leagues. The Silverbacks Men compete in the USL First Division; in 2005 the team fell just short of reaching the playoffs. The Silverbacks Women play in the USL W-League; the team was ranked 15th in the world last year during their inaugural season. The recently added Silverbacks U-23’s, play in the USL Premier Development League, a league for college-age students.
