Dacula High School Hosts Silverbacks Night

Monday March 24, 2008
DACULA, GA—Dacula High School welcomed Silverbacks Ryan McIntosh and Justin Moore as part of a doubleheader with heated rival Mill Creek Friday night.
McIntosh and Moore were on hand to sign autographs, greet fans, and pose for pictures during the girl's and boys games, and were the focus of half time festivities of the boy's game as part of Silverbacks Night.
Dacula High School will bring more than 200 fans to the Silverbacks nationally televised April 25 game versus Montreal. Tickets to the Montreal game were also raffled off to more than 1,000 in attendance.
Both Dacula teams were victorious over cross-town rivals Mill Creek. In the opening match the Dacula girls took the lead with an early goal, fending off a second half Mill Creek push that included two disallowed goals to come away with a 1-0 win. The boy's jumped to a two-goal lead and staved off Mill Creek in the final moments of the game 2-1.
At half time of the boy's game, spectators were given the opportunity to take a penalty kick on McIntosh. Those who converted their penalty kick won a ticket to a Silverbacks regular season home match. More than 100 eager participants took their shot against McIntosh.
"There were some well taken penalties tonight," said McIntosh, who conceded more than 50 goals on the night. "It was a lot of fun."
