ATLANTA SILVERBACKS 2008 SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED - SEASON OPENS AT HOME WITH CAROLINA ON APRIL 19Monday January 14, 2008 After falling just shy of a league championship last September, the Atlanta Silverbacks Men will look to the 2008 season to bring home the franchise’s first USL First Division title. The Silverbacks will kick off their 2008 campaign at home on Saturday, April 19 against the Carolina RailHawks at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium. The 30-game season will feature 15 home games at RMGA Stadium from April 19 to August 30. The ‘Backs will play each USL First Division side three times during the 2008 season. The Silverbacks will host the Seattle Sounders in the first rematch of the 2007 championship match on May 2, before taking on the Sounders twice in Seattle later in the regular season.
For the second consecutive season, Silverbacks fans will be able to watch all of Atlanta’s regular season fixtures. The ‘Backs will have four games featured on the Fox Soccer Channel, while all the remaining matches will be available for viewing online via USL Live in partnership with Play On!, a division of Turner Broadcasting.
