The 2007 USL W-League season kicks off on Friday, May 11 when the Atlanta Silverbacks Women take on the Charlotte Lady Eagles in North Carolina. The Silverbacks will finish out the month of May with three additional road games, including a May 25 game against the expansion-side Fredericksburg Lady Gunners. The Silverbacks will have a rematch with Charlotte on June 1, marking the start of the Silverbacks’ home season at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium, and a five-game home stretch. The ‘Backs will then head to Florida for a two-game road trip against the Cocoa Expos and the Bradenton Athletics. The team will return to Atlanta to finish out their last two regular-season games at home. All home games will kick off at 7:55 pm at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium.

U23s START AT HOME IN U.S. OPEN CUP QUALIFIER
The Atlanta Silverbacks U23s will begin their 2007 USL Premier Development League (PDL) Season at home on May 12 against Raleigh. The early 1:00pm kickoff will allow a doubleheader that will conclude with the USL First Division Silverbacks Men taking on the Carolina RailHawks at 7:55pm that evening. The Silverbacks’ 16-game season will include eight home games at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium. A few season highlights include two-home U.S. Open Cup qualifying matches against Raleigh and Bradenton on May 12 and May 24, respectively, as well as defending the Willie B. Cup in four matches against the Nashville Metros (May 19, June 22, July 12, and July 14). The U23s will finish the regular season at home on Friday, July 20 against the Carolina Dynamo.

SILVERBACKS SUPER-Y PLAYERS INVITED TO SUPER-Y LEAGUE ODP NATIONAL CAMPS
The Atlanta Silverbacks Super-Y program sent six teams to the Super-Y North American Finals back in November in Tampa. Several of the players who represented the Silverbacks during the 2006 season were invited to attend the Super-Y League ODP National Camps. The camps will be held by age-group; the training camps began in Florida last weekend and will continue until February 11. Coaches and scouts from within the region selected 31 players from the Atlanta Silverbacks to attend the training camps.
