Amidst freezing temperatures and complimentary hot-chocolate for all, the Atlanta Silverbacks Youth Program held its first ever Tournament of Champions this past weekend (Dec. 9-10) at Atlanta Silverbacks Park. The successful tournament brought together 29 teams from the U13 to the U17 age group. The tournament was the culmination of a series of games held throughout the fall. Competitive play lasted all weekend at Atlanta Silverbacks Park with all age-group finals taking place at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium. The Silverbacks’ Tournament of Champions, a USSF sanctioned tournament, marked the end of the first fall season for the Silverbacks Elite Youth Club. “We’re very pleased with the results of this weekend’s tournament. Everything ran smoothly and we had some very competitive matches. We’re looking forward to developing our youth program over the spring season and into the summer Super-Y program,” commented Laura Fedrigo, Executive Director of the Silverbacks Youth Program.

Runner-Up: Carrollton Crew Black
U17 - Winner: Georgia FC Elite
Runner-Up: Tull YMCA Tornados

OPEN TRYOUTS THIS WEEKEND FOR ATLANTA SILVERBACKS MEN
Atlanta Silverbacks Park will be filled again this coming weekend with players looking to make it at the professional level. This weekend (Dec. 15-17), the Atlanta Silverbacks Men will hold the first of three open tryouts where the Silverbacks’ coaching staff will evaluate players. Registration for this weekend’s tryout session has closed, but if you’re interested in trying out for the Silverbacks’ USL First Division team on either January 19-21 or February 16-18, click here.
