SILVERBACKS MEN SET TO HOST OPEN-TRYOUTS
The Atlanta Silverbacks will host three open-tryout sessions for the 2007 Atlanta Silverbacks Men USL First Division team. The tryouts for this year’s squad will be held December 15-17, January 19-21, and February 16-18. The Silverbacks hold open tryouts each year to provide a showcase opportunity for players who believe they have the ability to play at the professional level. Last year, Felipe Quintero (a former professional goalie in Mexico) attended the Silverbacks’ open tryouts; the coaching staff called him back for the Invitational Tryout; and he went on to become the Silverbacks’ starting goalkeeper. SILVERBACKS HOST TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS FOR GEORGIA’S YOUTH
The Atlanta Silverbacks Soccer Club will host its first Tournament of Champions on December 9th and 10th at Atlanta Silverbacks Park. This US Club Soccer event will include several top-level U13, U14, U15, U16, and U17 boys’ teams. The weekend’s competition is a culmination of a series of games held throughout the fall; results from the fall determined how teams have been seeded as they enter into the Tournament of Champions.
