SILVERBACKS IN THE COMMUNITY – MAGGIEMOO’S
The Atlanta Silverbacks will be out in the community this weekend helping MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream and Treatery in Dunwoody raise “Mooo-lah” to support Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. The anniversary celebration begins at 12:00pm on Saturday, September 30; Silverbacks stars Jason McLaughlin and Tara Minnax will serve as celebrity scoopers from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Visitors will enjoy a chance to get their faces painted, participate in an ice cream eating contest, and meet the seven foot spokescow Miss MaggieMoo herself and other celebrity scoopers. The Atlanta Silverbacks Men finished the season 8th in the USL First Division with 35 points and a 10-13-5 record. The Atlanta Silverbacks Women finished the season 5th in the USL W-League's Atlantic Division with 19 points and a 6-7-1 record. USL FIRST DIVISION FINAL THIS SATURDAY
The 2006 USL First Division season will wrap-up this weekend, culminating in the crowning of a champion. The Rochester Raging Rhinos will host the Vancouver Whitecaps at Paetec Park this Saturday (9.30) at 7:00 pm for the USL First Division Championship. The Rhinos, three-time USL champs, beat the Charleston Battery to advance to the final; the Whitecaps beat the Montreal Impact to advance to their first championship appearance. The game will be broadcast live on the Fox Soccer Channel.
