IMPROVEMENTS TO RE/MAX GREATER ATLANTA STADIUM CONTINUE
RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium opened to a sold-out crowd and the Silverbacks Men’s first win of the season on June 3. Since then, success has continued for all three of the Silverbacks’ franchises and the organization has continued to make each game a winning experience for the fans. Every week fans enjoy the new stadium and all it has to offer. This weekend, fans will see the addition of individual cup holders at every seat. Phase II opened on June 3, 2006 and the most significant work that remains will have to wait until the completion of the 2006 season as the equipment needed to complete that work would make it impossible to safely host the very events for which the stadium was designed. In the coming weeks, the elevated concourses behind the east and west stands will be completed. After the season, the bar/restaurant, permanent restrooms, and permanent locker rooms will be added.
MEN HEAD TO CHARLESTON, GAME TELEVISED LIVE ON FSC
The Atlanta Silverbacks Men, 2-4-3, leave for Charleston this weekend to play the Charleston Battery. The Silverbacks and the Battery have met twice so far this year, with a 0-0 tie in Charleston and 3-2 win in favor of the Silverbacks in Atlanta. This Friday’s game will be broadcast live on the Fox Soccer Channel at 8:00 pm. The Silverbacks are currently in 9th place in the USL First Division standings; a win against Charleston, currently in 8th place, will put Atlanta three points shy of Charleston in the standings.
