The Atlanta Silverbacks men’s division includes three levels of play within the United Soccer Leagues. The
Boys Professional Development Program (PDP) provides the most skilled youth players from the area a chance to
compete in the USL Super-Y League. The recently added Atlanta Silverbacks U-23’s, compete in the USL Premier
Development League; a league that allows North America’s best collegiate athletes to compete during the summer

The Atlanta Silverbacks women’s division includes two levels of play within the United Soccer Leagues.

of soccer for women, the USL W-League. In 2005, during the inaugural season, the Atlanta Silverbacks Women
were ranked 15th in the world. The Atlanta Silverbacks Women represent the highest level of women’s athletics

With over 3,500 members, the Silverbacks Soccer Club is one of the largest soccer clubs in the southeastern
United States. The Silverbacks Soccer Club offers players on any level a chance to come out and compete.
The club offers young people on any level a variety of opportunities to enjoy soccer that include select
teams, academy teams and recreational teams as well as a TOPSoccer program for young athletes with disabilities.
In addition the Club hosts camps and three large tournaments a year, drawing thousands of the southeast’s best players.
The Atlanta Silverbacks camp program offers various levels of instruction to its participants, encouraging
a fun and challenging environment. The Silverbacks offer three camps, each designed to match and enhance
specific skill levels. Highly competitive teams can take it to the next level at the Professional Experience
Program (PEP) camps. Developing players can get exclusive training with the world-renowned soccer club, Inter
Milan at the only North American site for the Inter Campus camp. Players of any ability can develop their

With two full-sized FieldTurf fields, one natural grass field, and state-of-the-art lighting and drainage systems,
Atlanta Silverbacks Park is the premier soccer park in Atlanta. The Park, located at Spaghetti Junction, draws
thousands of people every week. Athletic Atlantans gather at the park for various leagues every day of the week.
Whether it’s Hispanic League games on Sundays, or co-ed games on Tuesday nights, people gather at the park to watch,

The Atlanta Silverbacks Sports Center (ASSC) offers indoor facilities for Atlanta’s sports enthusiasts.
The ASSC is a state-of-the-art facility and the only climate-controlled indoor facility in Georgia. The sports
center has a variety of leagues and draws thousands of visitors every year. In addition to the popular indoor
soccer leagues, the ASSC attracts many athletes to the inline hockey and flag football leagues. The ASSC also
offers eight week player development programs for young soccer players: Soccer Tots, Soccer Touch, and Street

Originally born in Croatia, Jerkunica is now very much at home in Atlanta. A graduate of Druid Hills High School and
Emory University, he distinguished himself on the soccer field with both institutions, including an All-American honor
with Emory where he still holds the career scoring and assist records. Outside of soccer, Jerkunica has found success
in business, most notably in January 2000 when Real Networks in Seattle acquired the company he co-founded, Netzip.
John Latham – Owner/Vice Chairman
A native of Atlanta, John is partner of the Atlanta law firm Alston and Bird, LLP. Latham is a formal legal representative
for Umbro International and a trustee of the Georgia State Development Foundation. He serves on the United Soccer League’s
First Division Executive Committee and has been instrumental in guiding the league’s development.
Stephen Pratten – Owner/President/CEO
Pratten has overseen operations at the Atlanta Silverbacks since July 2001. A native of Leigh-on-Sea, England, he played
international soccer for his country at the U-18 level. A graduate of Columbia University in New York City, he played
NCAA Division I soccer and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. Before joining the Silverbacks, Pratten
worked in New York and Atlanta for General Re Corporation, a division of Berkshire Hathaway.
