With the North American Soccer League switching to a split-season format this year, the Atlanta Silverbacks will take advantage of the one-month break in July to evaluate talent for the NASL Fall Season, which begins in August.
The Silverbacks hold combines every year, and have had a history of signing players who have impressed during the sessions. Four current Silverbacks players were discovered at recent player combines: goalkeeper Joe Nasco and midfielders Brandon Manzonelli, Mark Withers, and Rury Alvarez.
The combine will run from Friday, July 12-Saturday, July 13, and will take place at Atlanta Silverbacks Park. Friday’s session will go from 6-8 p.m. on the upper field, while Saturday’s session will run from 1-3 p.m. on the stadium field. Each player will be required to pay a $175 entry fee and fill out the proper paperwork.
The club will only be taking the first 50 applications, so reserving a spot early is recommended. Each player will receive two shirts, but will need to bring all other gear. Players coming from out of town should book their hotel rooms at the Holiday Inn Perimeter, and you can visit their website by clicking here.
Players who are identified by the coaching staff at the combine will be invited to join the first team during the first week of Fall Season training camp.
