The Atlanta Silverbacks announced their final roster addition of the season on Thursday afternoon, welcoming a familiar face, forward Jahbari Willis, back to the team. The 6-foot-3 forward has returned to the club after a brief stint with another NASL side, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.
Willis, an Atlanta native, made a total of 11 appearances for the Silverbacks during portions of the 2012 and 2013 seasons, notching a pair of assists. He was traded to the Strikers in June, but returned to Atlanta to train with the Silverbacks after being released by the Strikers.
"It's good to have Jahbari back on the team. When he came to train with us, he put his head down, worked hard, and really improved," said Silverbacks Head Coach Brian Haynes. "He gives us a different kind of forward that we don't have - someone who has the pace to get in behind defenses and the strength to hold the ball up and bring other players into the game."
Willis will be available for selection this weekend when the Silverbacks visit the Carolina RailHawks on Saturday in Cary, N.C.
