The Silverbacks name received the most votes during the club’s recent “Decision 2012” campaign, with the verdict being announced Thursday night in front of a packed house at the Hard Rock Café in downtown Atlanta.
Continuing its strategy of delivering exceptional sports and entertainment options to Northern Virginia, VIP Sports & Entertainment announces that it is partnering with Loudoun Professional Soccer, LLC (LPS), who have been awarded a franchise in the North American Soccer League (NASL). The franchise will debut in 2014 playing its home games at the future Ballpark located at One Loudoun in Ashburn, VA.

Atlanta is coming off a midweek 3-1 win over the league-leading San Antonio Scorpions. Pedro Mendes and Willie Hunt were both on the scoresheet for the Silverbacks in Wednesday's win. Prior to that Atlanta recorded a 1-0 win over Fort Lauderdale on Saturday. That victory allowed the Silverbacks to climb off the bottom of the NASL table.
